Today marks the first anniversary of the beginning of the public inquiry into the Destination Kirkby planning application.
It seems like only yesterday that we were listening to arguments over the lack of a transport plan, the mysterious origin of the £52m cross-subsidy and the impact on the surrounding authorities who have developed in accordance with established planning policy that respects and protects those neighbouring centres.
We've listened to claims of fast tracking the decision from MP's and the press, but here we are; as expected the decision has taken one year, will it be today? Who knows; they're busy today in parliament, and perhaps the biggest story after today will be that the new speaker has refused to wear a frilly shirt.
No matter, the decision is upon us, here at KEIOC we're quietly expecting many more twists and turns before this is finally consigned to the David France collection.
