Destination Kirkby Pre-Inquiry Meeting

On Wednesday, several members of KEIOC attended the second pre-inquiry meeting for the Destination Kirkby project at Kirkby Civic Hall. The meeting lasted two hours and it has become apparent that the applicants do not wish to release certain documents into the public domain because of "commercial sensitivity".

Naturally, this denial of access to information makes it more complicated for those who wish to oppose the plans.

A lot of information from various bodies can be found on the Knowsley Council website here:

The Liverpool Daily Post has reported that further information has not been forthcoming from Knowsley Council. A member of the public, Steven Harrison intrigued the planning inspector Wendy Burden when he told her that he had made a request through the freedom of information act some ten months ago. He would like to see the results from a public consultation that have never been made public by Knowsley Council.

A Knowsley Council representative said that the distribution of the consultation responses was prohibited by the data protection act.

On Monday, the Keep Everton In Our City committee held it's Annual General Meeting. A new vice-chairperson and secretary have been appointed whilst Dave Kelly and Brian Gould retain their existing positions. All appointments were unanimously agreed by committee members.

Chairperson and spokesman - Dave Kelly
Vice-chairperson - David Woolford
