Keith Wyness to remain silent

Despite reports last week that the former Everton Chief Executive was keen to make a statement on his sudden and unexpected departure prior to the Secretary of State's announcement on the public inquiry into Tesco's planning application it can be revealed today that Keith Wyness has now changed his mind. Mr Wyness has said “I have decided not to make a statement, there will be nothing from me in the foreseeable future”

Last week it was reported in The Observer that Sir Philip Green, accompanied by Everton director Robert Earl, sailed across the Mediterranean in his private yacht from Sardinia to Mallorca to confront the recently departed CEO.

Newcastle owner, Mike Ashley, who was on the Island to witness Newcastle United's 1:0 defeat to Real Mallorca, he was later seen taking dinner on the yacht. It is expected that Newcastle United's non-scoring striker, Alan Smith, will become David Moyes' first signing for the forthcoming campaign.
